Local family database Kernein (Kreis Landsberg/Warthe)Kernein was first mentioned in the mid-13th century. In 1252, the village was gifted by Knight Hermann der Schütt to Abbot Michael of Paradies Monastery. In ecclesiastical terms, Kernein always belonged to Dechsel, where it was a branch church. Around 1774, it became a daughter parish of the Concordia Church in Landsberg. The church was consecrated in 1824, but the tower was not completed until 1828. The building was enlarged in 1904 with the addition of a chancel and a sacristy. In the same year, a rectory was built, as an assistant pastor's position had already been established in Kernein a few years earlier (from: Kernein – 600 Years of History) The idea of continuing this local family history book is closely linked to my own research in the Landsberg a. d. Warthe area. Often, the problem arises that connections can only be made through chance discoveries in neighboring communities. In my opinion, a local family history book offers good opportunities to overcome dead ends and also gives other researchers the opportunity to help in their search in an uncomplicated way. Since reading, transcription, or spelling errors cannot be ruled out, I ask anyone who discovers something inconsistent to let me know. Additions, changes, or suggestions are also very welcome. I would like to thank all supporters of the local family history book, especially:
The processing will be continued and supplemented at irregular intervals. Sources:I used or evaluated the following sources: • Gerd Schmerse database Gerd Schmerse (+) wrote in 2008: This is not a local family history book: it is a list of people—a list of people who, to my knowledge, all lived in Kernein, Landsberg/Warthe district, in Neumark between 1500 and 1945; a place that had about 525 inhabitants before 1945. The sources are my private ancestry lists, lists of residents at various times, meal guest and tax lists, titles of land records and the like, but no complete land records and, in particular, no fully evaluated church records and civil registry records. The data on the individuals is partly documented, partly passed down orally, partly calculated, assumed, or otherwise constructed (each marked with the corresponding source reference) – in short, it is a collection of varying quality that any serious genealogist would actually have to treat with a grain of salt... This collection has only one justification for being here: it is my current state of knowledge—anyone who knows better is called upon to send me corrections and thus contribute to the goal of turning it into what it is classified as here: Local family book Kernein |
