* Note: It could be that the date was 1869. If it is 1859, Henry would have been in business in New York between the ages of 14 and 19. RTC
Henry Tietjen owned H. Tietjen Grocery and Liquor Store at the southwest corner of Leavenworth and Broadway in San Francisco. This was also the address of the family's residence. The building was destroyed in the great earthquake and fire of 1906.7
