Buchelsdorf is already mentioned as “Buchwaldisdorf” in the 1376 document of Avignon, so it  already had its own church at that time. The name hints at a German origin and at being situated in a beech wood, but it also shows that the settlement could not be very old. In a cadastral land register (Flursammlung) of Buchelsdorf published by Georg von Blomberg 1957 in the Grünberger Wochenblatt (weekly newspaper of Grünberg), there are 25 names which are clearly German (like Diebsweg, Galgenberg, Pfaffentümpel), but no polish ones and only six, which might be of Slavic origin, but which don’t allow for a definite  reading.
